For many of our clients, a custom or tailored solution that fits their business needs, user preferences or mobile devices limitations is desirable. By working closely with the client, we create prototypes to facilitate and validate the proposed solution. Much of the time we are able to provide a workable prototype for testing within 10-15 business days. Some examples of how we’ve worked clients to develop a tailored/custom solution are provided below:

 

Long-Term Solutions for Outdoor POS Software Developer

At Handeholder Products, we pride ourselves on building long-term relationships with our clients. One of our valued partners, an outdoor POS software developer, faced several challenges that we helped solve over the years.

Initially, they needed a solution to securely hold an iPad Mini 6. We provided a cost-effective holding solution tailored to their needs. Later, they encountered issues with sand infiltrating their cases, causing significant loss, breakage, functional challenges, and compliance issues—all costing the company time, energy, and money. We addressed this by developing a solution that kept sand out of their devices.

A few years down the line, the developer’s employees preferred using their own smart devices with the POS system, rejecting the iPad Mini 6. To accommodate this, Handeholder Products designed a retractable clip-on system. This innovation prevented loss of mobile POS devices and allowed employees to use their personal smart devices, enhancing convenience.

This ongoing collaboration has been a win-win-win for our client, continually adapting and expanding solutions as new issues arise.

Extending Battery Life for Uninterrupted Sales

One of our clients faced a critical challenge: their Ingenico Link/2500 couldn’t hold a charge long enough to last through the day. This issue forced employees to return to the office to recharge, causing downtime, operational disruptions, and lost sales.

Partnering closely with the client, Handeholder Products developed a custom holding solution that incorporated an extended-life battery, a secure mount for the Ingenico device, and a user-friendly retractable clip. This setup allowed employees to hand the POS device directly to customers, streamlining the transaction process.

The result? Our client experienced seamless operations with no interruptions, improved efficiency, and zero lost sales. The solution not only enhanced productivity but also improved user comfort and ease of use.

Ensuring Reliability for Field Operations

A major utility company in California faced a critical challenge since their previous equipment provider had not survived the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving them on the brink of running out of essential gear. With the risk of service disruptions, delays, and potential safety concerns for their field associates, they needed a reliable solution fast.

The company was committed to keeping their iPad Mini 6, protected by Otterbox uniVERSE cases, fully operational during field operations. This required a robust battery charger, secure cabling, and an ergonomic holding solution.

Handeholder Products partnered with the utility company to design a custom battery holder compatible with the uniVERSE case. We also developed a cable solution that securely integrated the battery, case, and iPad Mini 6 into a single, ergonomically functional unit. This solution ensured continuous operation in the field, eliminating service disruptions and providing peace of mind for their associates.

Streamlining In-Store Service for a National Supplement Retailer

A leading national supplement company was transitioning to mobile technology to create a more customer-focused experience in their stores. They urgently needed a custom holder for their Verifone e280s payment terminals to support this shift.

After learning about their goals for improving customer engagement and mobile device usage, Handeholder Products engineered a custom sled solution. This included a tailored holder compatible with the Verifone e280s and the Otterbox uniVERSE case. The company’s objective was to empower their in-store associates to spend more time on the sales floor, directly interacting with customers to drive sales and enhance service.

Without the right mobile solution, the retailer struggled with longer wait times, missed sales opportunities, and reduced customer satisfaction. By partnering with Handeholder Products, they were able to integrate mobile technology into their operations and deliver a more customer-centric shopping experience.

We have holding solutions for mobile point-of-sale devices that are made through an additive manufacturing process (AMP) for original and low-quantity orders. While injection-molded pieces can be made available for large-quantity orders, the following are our current AMP offerings:

All of these AMP offerings can be used with nearly any mobile phone, tablet hard case or with OtterBox's uniVERSE case system for added device protection. Finally, we are currently prototyping the inclusion of MagSafe holding solutions.
